New Year Countdown At The Curve

This year, I was commission to shoot the countdown celebration street party at The Curve and no longer at Sg Wang (Jln Bukit Bintang). I was shooting with Babyboss photographers Angie Ong and Wai Seng. Unlike Sg Wang, the crowd here at The Curve was still very thin at around 7:30pm and only began to grow at around 8pm. Somehow, people (don't know where they came from) began flooding the area after 8:45pm, the moment the stage performances started.

The first few artiste line-up was rather unique. Juwita Suwito, Liang and Altered Frequency are all from the same Four Forty Records. Besides them were renowned local artistes like Karen Kong, Faizal Tahir and Rynn Ling. VJ Joey G was the emcee.

As usual, the countdown started at 1 minute before 12 midnight and everyone counted down together. At the stroke of 12 midnight, massive fireworks display was filling up the dark skies over The Curve. The street was in a mega mess after the event with hundreds and maybe even thousands of empty spray cans on the road. Downloaded the pics on the spot and burnt DVDs for the client. Left The Curve at 2:15am and only finally slept at 5am. Woke up at 5pm on New Year's day!
