The Kungfu Of Blogging

I must salute bloggers like Kenny Sia and Pinkpau (Lim Su Ann) who demonstrate so much skill and passion, and most of all, consistency in their blogging activities. They seem to have this infinite supply of words and stories to tell and share. And they present it so interestingly and so fun to read about.
-
Lately, this last few weeks, I begin to realise that I don't have much to blog about. Nothing exciting is happening in my life this last 1-2 months. Of course, I can either stop blogging about myself and the things around me, and start talking about outside issues like world news and stuffs, the Kuala Terengganu by-election and Obama's installation. But then I realise that that wouldn't be me and my blog anymore. My blog will then become a "news centre" for things that does not directly and indirectly related to me.
-
I begin to wonder why people read a blog, my blog, in this case. Because I have friends who wants to be updated and just want to know whats happening in and around my life? Because, like Kenny Sia, I write "so well" that I can captivate the interest and attention of my readers, and they just want to come back for more? Tun Dr Mahathir's "chedet" blog says nothing about his personal life but almost everything about the world of local and international politics. But mind you, his blog has recorded over 11 million hits since its inception in May 2008.
-
So, the art of blogging is definitely a skilled act and requires a lot of passion and dedication to keep the blog "interesting" and being able to get readers to always come back for more. Of course, for some, a blog is merely an "online pictorial diary" for family members abroad to keep in touch.
-
And so I asked myself, "What is the purpose of me blogging?" I gave it a thought. I realised I don't quite have the answer. I know I started this blog some 2 years back because my church youths say I should and its the "trend". I started blogging about my photography and stuffs and named my blog "The Babyboss Story". Then I went through a season where I was really down and a lot of you guys came to cheer me up. And then this last 2 months...car talk! LOL
-
Anyway, here is wishing everybody the best in 2009. For those studying, all the best in your studies. For those making money, all the best in making money. For those getting into relationships, all the best in your relationships. For those seeking for better health, all the best in health. Whatever you do, make sure you know what is happening. There is a story about "people". Some people MAKE things happen, some people WATCH things happen and some people WONDER what happened!!! Don't be a zero but be a hero!

Till next time, take care. Maybe going out later to get some new clothes for CNY. Haha... GONG HEI FART CHOY!!!
