Hmmm...a sudden sense of passion and desire creeped up and my hands are getting itchy on some new toys. Don't know why but I suddenly feel its time to change my aged (14yrs) Nikkor 80-200 f 2.8 AF-D lens. This lens has served me well...really well. But the new 70-200 f2.8 VR is also a very tempting lens too! A new one costs almost RM6,000!!! Sigh...
70-200mm f2.8VR
Comes with a beautiful lens hood.
Looks awesome coupled with the pro series bodies like this D3.
2 weeks ago, while I was shooting video of a wedding event, a guy took some candid pics of me using a Nikon D70s coupled with a Nikkor 50mm f1.8. The result...awesome pics, superb sharpness!!! I used to have this lens many years back but kinda sold it off thinking that I might not have the need for a fixed 50mm. On a DSLR, this lens gives a decent 75mm (50 x 1.5), great for studio portraiture use. I feel like having this lens back. A new one cost around RM385.

Babyboss...the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 for RM385 sounds reasonable. The 6K one is another story lar. Have you bought it?
I have the 50mm fixed lens and loved it. But it was for my Nikon analog SLR. My old 50mm lens cannot autofocus on my new D40 DSLR. Since cannot autofocus, i don't use it anymore. So sad. :-(
jiok : buying the lens on a debt and not making money out of it is bad idea, bro! I suggest a secondhand 80-200 f2.8D (the one that I am having now).
angie : hmm...I guess I should consider.
Orchid :OK, I will save up money for the 50mm.
Arggh...i was checking out the 50mm f1.8 Nikkor lens and found out that it can't autofocus on my D40. :-( so sad. So i'll just have to make do with my kit lens.
